About this tour
Most Bir Billing trips are built around one thing, the paragliding, and treat everything else as filler. This one flips that. Barot Valley comes first, a quiet river town most people have never heard of, still running on the old Shanan Hydel Project built a hundred years ago. Then Rajgundha, a meadow village that barely shows up on maps. Then Bir, where the paragliding actually happens, alongside its Tibetan monasteries and the best cafe scene in Himachal outside Dharamkot. Two full nights in Barot mean nobody’s rushing the quiet part just to get to the adventure part.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Delhi to Barot Valley
- Group assembles at Kashmere Gate ISBT, Delhi. Chandigarh pickup also available en route
- Overnight drive via Chandigarh, Bilaspur and Mandi
- Arrive Barot Valley, check in, breakfast and freshen up
- Explore Lapas Waterfall, Batty House and the natural fountain nearby
- Visit the Shanan Hydel Project dam and the cafes along it
- Return to the stay, dinner, overnight in Barot
Day 2
Rajgundha Valley
- Breakfast at the stay
- Visit Barot's Zero Point
- Head to Rajgundha Valley, a hidden meadow village with wooden houses and open Himalayan views
- Stop at Badagram village and smaller hamlets on the way, take in the scenery
- Return to Barot, dinner, overnight stay
Day 3
Barot to Bir
- Breakfast, check out from Barot
- Drive to Bir, around 53 km through the hills
- Visit Bhangoru waterfall on the way
- Check in at Bir
- Visit Chokling Monastery, walk through Bir market, free time for cafe hopping
- Dinner, overnight stay in Bir
Day 4
Bir Billing and Departure
- Breakfast
- Head up to the Billing take-off site for paragliding (seasonal, see notes below)
- Optional visit to Palpung Sherabling Monastery
- Group painting session at the cafe, materials provided
- Evening departure for Delhi
Day 5
Arrival in Delhi
- Overnight drive continues
- Early morning arrival at Kashmere Gate ISBT, trip concludes

Things to carry

Important notes
- Solo travellers, friends and couples all welcome
- Rooms shared with same gender unless twin or single booked, extra mattresses provided for triple and quad sharing
- Paragliding at Billing runs mid-September to mid-July, it does not operate during monsoon, so trips booked in July and August will skip this activity
- AC will not run in the hills, standard on mountain routes
- Seat confirmed only after advance payment, advance is non-refundable and non-transferable
- Valid government ID mandatory for boarding, only names confirmed at booking may travel
- Bookings are not transferable to another person
- Departure time is fixed, report 30 minutes early, vehicle will not wait
- No drinking or smoking during the journey
- Follow trip captain's instructions, no rude or unsafe behaviour, no littering
- Organiser not responsible for lost items
- Itinerary may shift slightly due to weather or road conditions, this trip is about the experience together, not ticking off every stop

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I do paragliding if I'm travelling in July or August? | No. The Billing take-off site closes for monsoon from mid-July to mid-September. If your dates fall in this window, the paragliding activity won't be available, and the trip continues without it.
Is Barot Valley worth two full nights, or is one enough? | Two nights lets you actually reach Rajgundha, which most Bir-focused trips skip entirely since it needs a separate day. If you've already done a quick Barot stop before, this is the version that shows the part people usually miss.
How much should I budget for paragliding separately? | Around ₹2,800 to ₹3,500 per person for a standard flight, paid directly at the site. Longer flights cost more.
Is this trip good for solo travellers? | Yes, most people on our trips come alone and the group gets comfortable with each other well before Bir.
