About this tour
Munsyari is where the Himalayas take over. Hidden in Uttarakhand’s Johar Valley, it’s one of India’s most beautiful yet least-crowded mountain destinations, with breathtaking views of the Panchachuli peaks, pine forests, waterfalls and peaceful Himalayan landscapes. On this trip we drive overnight from Delhi, spend two days exploring hidden trails, trek to the serene Thamri Kund, visit the stunning Birthi Falls, enjoy a bonfire under the stars, and return with memories – and people – you’ll never forget. All strangers, friends and couples welcome.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Thursday Night - Delhi to Munsyari
- 07:00 PM Pickup Delhi, Kashmere Gate ISBT
- 09:30 PM Dinner stop at dhaba en route, NH9 Moradabad stretch. 45 min.
- Resume drive through Haldwani, Almora, Bageshwar
- 06:00 AM Breakfast halt on the final mountain stretch into Munsyari. 30 min.
- Resume drive on Thal-Munsyari road
Day 2
Arrive, Settle, Panchachuli Sunset
- 01:00 PM Arrive Munsyari, check in
- 01:30 PM Lunch at hotel
- 03:00 PM Tribal Heritage Museum. Short walk through Kumaoni culture. 45 min.
- 04:30 PM Munsyari Hill Top View Point. First proper look at the valley.
- 06:00 PM Secret View Point. Panchachuli and Nanda Devi ranges at sunset. This is the moment.
- 08:00 PM Dinner at hotel. Rest.
Day 3
Thamri Kund Trek + Birthi Falls + Bonfire
- 08:00 AM Breakfast
- 09:30 AM Drive to trailhead, trek 3km through pine forest to Thamri Kund. Quiet natural pond, almost no tourists. 2-2.5 hrs total.
- 12:30 PM Drive to Birthi Falls. 126 metre waterfall straight off the road. Maggi and chai stop here.
- 02:30 PM Back to Munsyari, rest at hotel
- 08:00 PM Bonfire night. Music, chai, snacks, Himalayan sky.
Day 4
Return Journey
- 07:00 AM Breakfast, pack, group photo with Panchachuli in background
- 08:00 AM Depart Munsyari
- Lunch stop en route, Almora belt
- Dinner stop en route, plains stretch
- Next morning early hours - Arrive Delhi

- Munsyari sits in a monsoon-shadow but hill roads can still shift plans - flexibility appreciated

Is Munsyari worth the long drive from Delhi? | Yes. It's one of the least-crowded hill destinations in Uttarakhand precisely because of the distance. What you get in return is an unobstructed, close-up view of the Panchachuli peaks that most Kumaon trips never reach.
What should I expect on the overnight drive? | A dinner stop around 9:30 PM on the way up, a breakfast halt as the road climbs into the hills the next morning, and arrival in Munsyari by 11 AM. The return follows the same pattern, with the group reaching Delhi in the early hours.
Are couples allowed? | Yes. Strangers, friends and couples are all welcome on this trip.
What is the group size? | Maximum 20 people per trip.
How much cash should I carry? | Rs 2,000 to 2,500 comfortably covers meals not included, entry fees, chai stops and any shopping in the local market.
Is there mobile network in Munsyari? | Jio and Airtel work in Munsyari town. Signal drops on the hill stretches and at Thamri Kund and Birthi Falls.
What kind of stay will we have? | A proper hotel or homestay with mountain views and hot water. No cheap stays. That is our standard.
